One sample story:  (true event in my own life - Ken)

It was a Sunday morning and our family was getting ready for church. In a hurry I hopped into our van with the key in hand. What? No ignition! To my surprise there was only a hole where the ignition should have been and wires were hanging out of the hole. Someone had tried to steal our vehicle! Anger surged up in me.

I quickly thought of my options. Being a farm boy, I decided to hot wire my own van. I had never tried this before but I fiddled with the wires. The wipers came on, then the horn let out a blast. To my relief, the van finally started. We made it to church on time.

Ironically, I was preaching that Sunday and my sermon was on forgiveness. The half hour drive gave me time to confess my anger to God and forgive some nameless person who had upset my Sunday morning and would cost me a repair bill.

I have noticed that no matter what area I am serving God in, I face a test of my character and faith in that very thing. I believe it’s because God wants me to be authentic when I preach, teach or disciple others.

Greetings! We have been away from this blog for a long time. Our apologies. Living Free Ministries continues to keep us very involved with people! For the past winter we were working on another book. Together with our granddaughters, we released a book for children and families.

What Can I Do About Anxiety?
a book for kids and their families

Anchored in God’s Word

Teachers tell us that even young children suffer with anxiety. Here are a few contributing factors:

·         school-related issues like bullying

·         parents fighting, arguing or separating

·         frequent moves, home or school

·         being abused or neglected

·         excessive and inappropriate screen time

For these and other reasons many children become insecure and anxious.

You can check out the whole series under the tab “BOOKS.”

·         Overcoming Anxiety

 Men's Discipleship Groups

Ken is just completing a 3-month men's discipleship group.  The next group starts now in April and will continue into June.

This is open to any man who would like to join. What is it like, you ask?

* The first 2 groups have included guys from BC, Alberta and Ontario, plus rural Manitoba and Winnipeg. The gathering is on-line, so it open to anyone, anywhere.

* The evening begins with light-hearted interaction. The core is watching the Ten-Week Discipleship Course together. This includes 3 pauses for discussion. The evening concludes with sharing and prayer.

* The focus of the teaching is on dealing with the stuff in life that can keep us from living joyfully for Jesus.  The side-benefit is hanging out with other guys, having fellowship and encouraging each other.

A new group will start in September.  Anyone who is interested can contact Ken at 204-612-6758.
